QURE Alkaline Water vs Sports Drink

QURE Alkaline Water vs Sports Drink

People need to hydrate. Even if you are just doing limited activities, you need to hydrate. If you are an active individual, then the more fluids you need in your body.

According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, men need to take in 3.7 liters of fluid a day and 2.7 liters of fluid a day for women.

Fluid could be water, juice, other beverages, and fluid from food. A fifth of our daily fluid comes from food. The rest comes from water and beverages that one drinks every day.

Drink More When You Sweat More

The most basic rule of thumb about fluid intake is eight glasses of water a day. That’s just an easy way of remembering things. Eight glasses of water are roughly equivalent to two liters. This means that you have to supplement your intake of fluid with others.

Active people need to drink more liquid. The more you sweat, the more fluids you need.

This means that if you exercise regularly, then you need to drink more. When you exercise, you need to drink water or fluids before, during, and after the workout.

According to the American Council on Exercise, you need at least half a liter of fluid two to three hours before you exercise. Then, 20 to 30 minutes before the workout, you should drink another quarter of a liter of water.

During the workout, the recommendation is to take in about a fifth to close to a third of a liter of fluid every 10 to 20 minutes. Finally, close to a quarter of a liter is necessary 30 minutes after the workout.

Water is always a good fluid to drink. However, you might notice that many athletes choose to consume sports drinks.

Why Do Athletes Drink Sports Drinks?

If you watch various sports events, you’ll notice that a lot of athletes drink colorful liquid–sports drinks.

Sports drinks are mostly water that contains carbohydrates and electrolytes, which are very helpful in rehydration.

Carbohydrates, which come in the form of sugar, will provide energy and the added boost during a workout. Electrolytes, which are usually sodium, potassium, and magnesium, will replenish the fluid lost during exercise.

Experts recommend athletes and people who have serious workout regimens to consume sports drinks to replenish the fluid lost.

Many studies have noted that sports drinks and other carbohydrate beverages contribute to improvements in performance among athletes or people who do “continuous exercise lasting one to four hours or longer.”

However, the same could not be said for people doing short-duration exercises.

For regular people who exercise for less than an hour, water would suffice. Although, there is a case to be had for the taste of sports drinks.

Since they contain sugar, they are generally better tasting than regular water. Therefore, people would like to drink more of it, consuming the recommended amount of fluid in the body, especially during workouts.

Speaking of taste, QURE Alkaline Water is another fluid that provides an alternative taste to regular water or sports drinking water.

The Nature-inspired Mineralization of QURE Alkaline Water

The mineralization process of QURE Alkaline Water ensures a palatable taste. It starts with proprietary reverse osmosis and distillation filtration. The process ensures that the water will be free from impurities and contaminants present in many spring waters where QURE Alkaline Water is sourced.

This is followed by percolation through rich layers of natural ionic minerals. This process mimics the natural water cycle in mineral rock layers.

The water also undergoes “QURATION,” which is a bonding synergy that provides potency so that the water structure will remain stable and alkaline in the next couple of years.

The silky-smooth taste of the water is achieved through a journey over layers of natural ionic alkaline minerals and coconut carbon cleaned through micro-mesh filtration. That is complemented with the concluding stages of ultraviolet ozonation sterilization. The result is a refined and unadulterated crisp feel of the water.

QURE tastes good without the added sugar.

It has a pH level of 10, making it high-alkaline water that is a good alternative for rehydration during an intense workout.

Alkaline Water vs Sports Drinks

Alkaline water and sports drink are both alternative fluids that you could use to hydrate and rehydrate during a workout. Both also contain electrolytes that are important to replenish the fluid lost during the exercise.

Alkaline water is an option for people who don’t want sugar in their drinks. Since it is water, there is also no artificial or processed coloring added to the product.

There is also the matter of acidity and alkalinity. As the name suggests, alkaline water has a higher pH value, between 8 and 10. It also has a higher pH value than regular drinking water, which is usually a pH 7, which means neutral.

On the other hand, sports drinks have pH levels of between 2.93 and less than 4. This connotes high acidity.

So, what’s better for you? Alkaline water or sports drinks?

Refreshingly Smooth Alkaline Water Hydration

Actually, the most important thing is hydration. You need to hydrate to regulate your body temperature as well as to lubricate your joints. Fluids will also carry nutrients to the cells in the different parts of your body and will allow your organs to function properly.

With that in mind, you need to follow your recommended fluid intake of 3.7 liters of fluid a day for men, and 2.7 liters of fluid a day for women. The fluid will come from water–regular, mineral, and alkaline, among others–and other beverages–fruit juices, sports drinks, or sodas. About 20% of your daily fluid intake should come from the solid food you eat.

Experts, though, highly recommend sports drinks for people who regularly train a.k.a. athletes.

For non-athletes, water, like QURE Alkaline Water, is still the best way to hydrate and rehydrate your body.
