Lisa Amstutz: Making Running a Stroll in the Track
Lisa Amstutz is one happy mama that races with her kids on their stroller to show that little ones are not limiting factors to an active lifestyle but rather great motivators.
Her family is just one of the many who have embraced stroller races in the country.
“There’s really no limit. If you don’t limit yourself in what you can accomplish, you can do whatever you want,” Lisa points out.
For Lisa, getting her kids involved in her athletic endeavors made running not just fun but also an enriching experience for the entire family.
She learned how to manage time for training, work, and kids pushing her to become a better athlete while leading a great example in showing the importance of living healthy and active.
“My family is my huge support system. Without that support from my family, there’s no way I can pursue my running and fitness goals that I go for,” reveals Lisa who is now getting ready to run her seventh marathon this year.
Though admitting that the growing community of moms and dads racing for half or full marathons with kids on their strollers has made races more enjoyable and inspiring, the secret to make stroller racing really work is to enjoy the journey itself.
“Races are fun but your day-to-day is what you need to truly enjoy to stay motivated and to keep moving forward.”
